The Earth system is all the matter, energy, and processes on Earth. It is made up of both nonliving – rocks, air, and water – and living things – trees, animals, and people. The Earth system can be divided into five main parts: the geosphere, the hydrosphere, the cryosphere, the biosphere, and the atmosphere. The geosphere is the rocky part of earth, which extends from the center of the earth to the surface.
The hydrosphere is all the liquid water on Earth, such as the ocean, rivers, rain, and lakes. The cryosphere is all the frozen water on Earth, like ice, glaciers, and ice bergs. The Atmosphere is all the invisible gas on Earth, the atmosphere extends outwards of 500 to 600 km from the Earths surface. And the biosphere is all living organisms on Earth, like people, trees, fish, and many more.
